The stock, the videos, the audiences and the budget, with the duplicate and the new reel. From the launch on 24 September to 11 AM Pacific on 16 October 2026.
Julie's messages of 15 and 16 October, which this report answers, alongside the wider questions about the budget, the audiences and the broad campaign.
"Why do you think these have gone down?"

Meta is charging less to show the ads than it did two weeks ago. The rise comes after that: somewhat fewer people click through, and fewer of those who do go on to buy. Three things line up with it. The audiences running out is not one of them: the odour-conscious group has reached about 1% of the people in it (section 7).
The two-bottle bundle has shown sold out since Thursday morning and the single bottle since Friday morning. Four of the five ads running now lead to a page whose buy button goes to the two-bottle bundle.
Until 9 October the broad campaign ran Skin Won't Heal, linking to the 11 reasons guide page, at $22.12 per purchase (Meta's count). The two videos that replaced it, linking elsewhere, run at $34.66 and $44.68.
Since 9 October a new ad or a changed video went in on three days, and the budget moved by a third or more on four. Meta restarts its learning after a new ad, and can after a large budget change; results cost more while it relearns.
Checked on the live website at noon Pacific on Friday 16 October, and still the same at 12:44 AM on Saturday. Shopify stops selling a product when its stock count reaches zero, and these two reached zero with the last orders that took them. The bottles Julie picked up this week are not in the counts yet.
| Product | Price | On the website now | Since (Pacific time) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Two-bottle bundle the most bought product | $59.00 | Sold out | 4:57 AM Thu 15 Oct (order #1088) |
| Single bottle | $34.50 | Sold out | 6:44 AM Fri 16 Oct (order #1094) |
| Three-bottle bundle with tote and free shipping | $84.50 | Available | 22 in stock |
Where the running ads send people:
| Ad | Lands on | Buy button goes to |
|---|---|---|
| Skin Won't Heal interest and retargeting | The 11 reasons guide page | Two-bottle bundle Sold out |
| Frank's RedHot broad | The two-bottle bundle page | Two-bottle bundle Sold out |
| Dysbiosis (the new reel) broad | How STANK recalibrates your skin | Two-bottle bundle Sold out |
| Coconut oil broad | The homepage | Every product Three-bottle available |
The ads have spent $295.91 while the most-bought product could not be bought, and $58.90 since 7 AM Pacific on Friday, with no order on the website since the single bottle sold out. Updating the two counts in Shopify (Products, then the product, then Inventory) puts the buy buttons back straight away. The same thing happened on 5 October and was fixed the same evening the same way.
Ads Manager shows an average over the date range chosen, so over a long range a change shows up slowly and late. Split by week, it is clear where the rise happened. Top figure: Meta's cost per purchase. Below it: cost per order using Shopify's count, which only credits an ad when it was the last thing the buyer clicked.
| Campaign | 24 to 30 Sep | 1 to 7 Oct | 8 to 14 Oct | 15 Oct to 11 AM Pacific 16 Oct |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Broad all of Canada, Meta picks who sees it | $106.57 $106.57* | $22.03 $40.91 | $34.40 $68.80 | $61.15 $122.31* |
| Interest groups new customers, by interest | not yet running | $17.95 $17.95 | $39.95 $47.94 | $18.95 $37.90 |
| Retargeting site visitors and people who engaged, buyers left out | not yet running | $19.96 $29.93 | $18.43 $21.50 | $15.16 $15.16 |
| Whole store all ad spend divided by all orders | $86.47 | $20.64 | $29.62 | $34.76 |
Weeks run from launch day, Thursday 24 September; the last column is a day and a half. The retargeting and interest campaigns started on 4 and 5 October. Meta counts a purchase if the buyer clicked through from an ad in the previous seven days or saw one the day before, the same rule for all three campaigns. Shopify's count is stricter: it misses people who saw an ad and came back another way. The truth sits between the two, so both are shown. More of the broad campaign's purchases come from people who saw an ad without clicking (9 of 58, against 1 of 13 and 1 of 12), one reason its Meta count runs further ahead of Shopify's. * In these two columns a large share of the broad campaign's spend (55% and 35%) went to ads without tracking tags, so Shopify could not credit their sales and its figure reads too high; Meta's count is the better guide there.
Cost per sale is three things multiplied together: what Meta charges to show the ad, how many people click, and how many of those buy. From the first full week of October to the second, the broad campaign's cost of showing the ads went down, clicks per view fell by about a fifth, and orders per 100 clicks fell by about a third. Most of the rise is in that last step, after the click.
| Broad campaign | Cost per 1,000 views | Clicked to the site | Added to cart per $100 | Orders per 100 clicks |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 to 7 Oct | $38.09 | 4.64% | 11.7 | 2.01 |
| 8 to 14 Oct | $33.06 | 3.61% | 6.2 | 1.33 |
The whole store shows the same pattern. Visits went up by over 40% from the first full week to the second, and the share of visits ending in an order went down.
| Whole store | Visits | Added to cart | Ended in an order | Ad spend |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 to 7 Oct | 1,184 | 6.7% | 2.87% | $722.31 |
| 8 to 14 Oct | 1,700 | 4.1% | 2.24% | $1,125.46 |
| 15 Oct to 11 AM Pacific 16 Oct | 392 | 4.8% | 2.04% | $312.84 |
Why these three: on 9 October the two ads carrying most of the broad campaign's budget changed video, from Skin Won't Heal to Coconut oil in one and to Frank's RedHot in the other. Same campaign and audience. The page each one links to changed at the same time: Skin Won't Heal went to the 11 reasons guide page, Coconut oil goes to the homepage and Frank's RedHot to the two-bottle bundle page. The last row is Skin Won't Heal running in the interest and retargeting campaigns over the same days as the two newer videos.
| Video | Spend | Watched past 3 seconds | Clicked to the site | Added to cart per $100 | Meta cost per purchase | Shopify cost per order |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Skin Won't Heal broad, 30 Sep to 9 Oct |
$685.86 | 37.9% | 4.49% | 11.8 | $22.12 | $42.87 |
| Frank's RedHot broad, 9 to 16 Oct |
$381.21 | 72.3% | 3.80% | 4.7 | $34.66 | $63.53 |
| Coconut oil broad, 9 to 16 Oct |
$223.41 | 52.3% | 3.95% | 4.0 | $44.68 | $74.47 |
| Skin Won't Heal interest and retargeting, 9 to 16 Oct |
$241.41 | 30 to 42% | 3.78% | 13.3 | $18.57 | $21.95 |
More people watch past the first three seconds: 72.3% and 52.3%, against 37.9% for Skin Won't Heal. They are good for reaching and warming up new people.
About 2.6 times as many add-to-carts for every dollar, and after 9 October it kept selling to new people in the odour-conscious group at $27.79 per order.
All three are Julie on camera with a headline. The one that sells opens on the problem the viewer has, and sends them to the guide page. It matches the plan from the 13 October call: stay in the same vein as the winning reel.
The page matters as well as the video. Since 1 October, 5.4% of visits to the guide page added to the cart, 6.5% on the homepage and 2.7% on the two-bottle bundle page. So part of Frank's RedHot's gap is the page it links to. Coconut oil links to the homepage, where shoppers add to cart as readily as on the guide page, and still brings far fewer, which points to the video. Both are reasons to send Skin Won't Heal back to the guide page.
"Watched past 3 seconds" is Meta's 3-second video views per impression, read for 1 to 8 October (Skin Won't Heal in broad) and 10 to 16 October (the newer videos). Spend and sales are split at the hour each video was changed. "Added to cart per $100" is Meta's add-to-cart count for every $100 spent. Skin Won't Heal's time in broad included the strongest days so far (5 and 6 October), which flatters it a little; its results with new people in the odour-conscious group since 9 October show it was not only the timing. Page figures are all visits from every source.
No. An audience wears out when most of the people in it have seen the ads several times; the cost to show the ads then climbs. Here the interest groups have reached a small fraction of their people, the cost to show the ads has gone down, and each person reached has seen an ad about once.
| Audience | People in it (Meta) | Reached so far | Times each | Last 7 days |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Odour-conscious, natural deodorant, and natural skin care, probiotics or organic | 671,000 to 789,500 | 6,170 | 1.12 | $110.69, 4 orders $27.67 each |
| Clean beauty shoppers Lush, The Body Shop or Whole Foods, and natural skin care | 1,600,000 to 1,900,000 | 5,127 | 1.16 | $130.00, 1 order |
| Retargeting site visitors, Facebook and Instagram engagers, video viewers | a few thousand | 2,540 | 2.02 | $137.43, 6 orders $22.90 each |
Meta no longer lets anyone target health conditions: eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, body odour and fungal infections are not in its list. The way around it is to target what people with those problems buy. Each group below was checked in Meta's own list this morning, with its size in Canada.
| Group | Interests in Meta | People in Canada | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| A. Sensitive-skin brand fans Test first | CeraVe, La Roche-Posay, Aveeno, Eucerin or Cetaphil, and natural skin care, organic or probiotics | 2,300,000 to 2,700,000 | The brands people buy for eczema, dry and reactive skin, when they also lean natural. |
| B. Scalp and dandruff, leaning natural Test first | Head & Shoulders, and natural skin care, organic or probiotics | 360,200 to 423,800 | Dandruff shampoo is a common first choice for seborrheic dermatitis. |
| C. Wellness shoppers Later | Goop, Kombucha or Burt's Bees, and natural skin care | 505,500 to 594,700 | Close to the odour-conscious group, which already works. |
| D. Odour and sensitive skin Later | Deodorant, and CeraVe, La Roche-Posay, Aveeno, Eucerin or Cetaphil | 334,300 to 393,300 | A tighter version of A, aimed at the odour buyers. |
The broad campaign is working as broad campaigns should: Meta has found the buyers on its own. 59% of its spend goes to people aged 45 to 64 and 77% to women, and Quebec takes about the same share of the spend (8%) as it gives of the orders (7%). So the targeting itself needs no change. These are the changes that would help.
The broad campaign went from $100 to $175 a day at 4:54 AM Pacific on Thursday and to $250 at 7:00 AM on Friday, two and a half times in about a day. Raising the budget makes sense with stock to move. The timing works against it: the two best sellers cannot be bought, and the video that sold best is not in the campaign, so the extra money is buying clicks that are less likely to turn into orders.
| Campaign | Now, a day | Suggested, a day | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Broad | $250 | $175, then +20% every 2 to 3 days | Set together with the other broad changes, then step up while the whole store's cost per order stays under about $25. |
| Odour-conscious | $15 | $20 | The best new-customer audience, with room to grow. |
| New group A | none | $10 | Test, in the clean beauty slot. |
| New group B | none | $10 | Test. |
| New video tests | none | $20 | Where new reels prove themselves before joining broad. |
| Clean beauty | $10, no ads running | off | Replaced by the new groups. |
| Retargeting | $20 | $25 | The lowest cost per sale; spends its full budget. Keep the step if the cost per order holds. |
| Total | $295 | $260, rising |
Julie to camera, 45 seconds, in the broad campaign. Live since 7:12 AM Pacific on Friday.
It is the right kind of video: Julie explaining why creams have not worked, which is the Skin Won't Heal formula. People are clicking it. Four things would give it a fairer run:
The caption names acne, eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, skin folds and BO and talks about healing. Meta turned down Skin Won't Heal's original caption twice, on 5 and 7 October, under its health rules, and held the Pants ad as not approved from 7 PM Pacific on Thursday to 1 AM on Friday. A softened Skin Won't Heal caption was approved within minutes on 9 October, so if this one is turned down, a softened caption is the quickest way back.
It is "reel campaign - Copy", beside "reel campaign" in the campaign list. Meta's log shows both were made on 25 September, before the retargeting and interest campaigns started on 4 and 5 October, and that the copy was made 28 minutes after the original from Julie's login. Neither has spent anything since 27 September.
| Campaign | Made (Pacific) | Spent | Purchases (Meta) | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| reel campaign | 25 Sep, 8:23 AM | $63.96 | 1 | Paused |
| reel campaign - Copy | 25 Sep, 8:51 AM | $74.82 | 0 | Paused |
Paused campaigns cost nothing, so it can stay where it is. Two other things can look like duplicates and are on purpose: Skin Won't Heal runs in more than one campaign, and the retargeting ads use the same posts as ads in the broad campaign, so the likes and comments build up in one place. They do not compete with each other: retargeting only reaches people who already know STANK, and the interest groups leave those people out.
From Meta's activity log. Most of what was switched off on Friday morning had spent little; the two that had spent the most were the Pants image in broad and the reworded Skin Won't Heal in clean beauty. What is running now: Skin Won't Heal in the odour-conscious group and in retargeting; Frank's RedHot, Coconut oil and Dysbiosis in the broad campaign.

Meta's own help pages, read on 16 October 2026, and the published practice the recommendations lean on.
Prepared by Echo Digital, 16 October 2026, from the Meta ad account and the Shopify store, read between 11:00 AM and noon. Figures run from the launch on 24 September to 11 AM on 16 October, Pacific time. Spend, clicks and Meta's purchase counts are Meta's; orders are Shopify's, credited to the last ad clicked. Nothing in the ad account or the store was changed in preparing this report. The earlier Ad and reel breakdown has every reel with a link to watch it.
