What changes next on stankproducts.com and in the Meta account, and in what order, following the call on 2 October.
A Canadian brand selling a natural skin conditioning wash for people and animals, sold through its own Shopify store and advertised on Meta.
Most of the work since 29 September has been behind the scenes: the parts of the site that Google, Meta and screen readers read, rather than the parts customers see. The two changes customers can see, the Shop buttons on the articles and the Skin Guides menu, went in with Julie's OK.
From 26 to 30 September, none of the 9 orders came from Google. On 1 and 2 October, 3 of the 6 orders did, the first orders Google has sent.
The call on 2 October set the priorities. Julie's figures on the call: since the launch on 24 September, 23 people had added to cart, 18 reached checkout and about 10 bought. Most buyers choose the two or three bottle bundle.
"I really want to nail down that shopping cart."
"I think they need more information... it's all fun and no serious right now."
Julie, call on 2 October 2026
With margins around 30% before advertising, discounting is not the way to win back the people who nearly bought. The plan works on confidence instead: reviews where the decision is made, shipping and returns stated plainly, nothing slowing the page down, and advertising that brings the people who nearly bought back with more information.
Reviews on the product pages and in the cart, shipping and returns made plain, the loading screen, the logo, the founder story and a set of tidy-ups.
The words people type when they have the problem STANK solves, matched to the page that should answer them, with the current wording beside the suggested wording.
Retargeting first, then an interest test beside the current campaign, and answers to the two questions from the call.
Nothing customers can see changes until it has been approved. Changes to the site's design are tried on a copy of the site first, and every change is logged so it can be put back.
The changes customers will see, most important first.
This is the largest gap, and the call put it first. The Reviews page carries a dozen written testimonials, and they are strong, but most are from pet owners and only two or three are about human skin, which is the product the advertising sells. On the product pages the review section sits near the foot of the page, below the before and after photos, and reads "Be the first to write a review", because none have been collected through the review app yet. Its Write a review button is the only way to leave one, and nothing asks buyers to use it.
On the product page, a star rating under the product name and the reviews higher up the page, near the price.
In the cart, short review highlights under the total, plus a scrolling line of them above the cart. The review app's cart widget is already switched on in the theme, so the groundwork is there.
On the Reviews page, a human half and a pet half.
The second thing a buyer needs before paying is to know what happens after. Each line below is what the site shows today, with the change beside it.
| Now | The change |
|---|---|
| The top banner says free shipping over $95 | The shipping settings give free shipping in Canada from $84.50, so the 3 bottle bundle already ships free. The banner should say so, because that is a selling point. If $95 is the intended threshold, the settings change instead. |
| A 30-day refund policy exists but no page in the shop links to it | Linked in the footer, in the cart and next to Add to Cart. |
| No shipping policy | Written from the current rates for approval: Canada $12.95, free from $84.50. United States $10 to $29.90 by weight, free over $100. 26 other countries, including the UK, Europe, Australia and Japan, at Canada Post's rates. Canadian orders paid $9.97 up to 29 September and $12.95 since 1 October, so the policy uses $12.95 unless that changes. |
| No product page mentions returns, and the Shipping box on each is empty | One line under Add to Cart covering both, and the Shipping box filled in. |
| On a phone, the price and Add to Cart are on the second screen | Brought up so the first screen shows the product, the price and the button. |
| People who leave at checkout | 3 people have left at checkout since 24 September after entering their details. The reminder email that goes to them gets checked, in Shopify or Klaviyo, whichever sends it. |
| Shop Pay, Apple Pay, PayPal and cards | Already working. 9 of the 11 orders from 26 September to 1 October were paid with Shop Pay or Apple Pay. No change needed and no extra cost. |
Every page is covered by a plain white screen for about five seconds. The page underneath is ready in under a second: measured on 30 September at 0.6 seconds on a computer and 0.8 on a phone, with the white screen lifting at 5.3 to 5.6 seconds. The screen runs on a fixed timer rather than waiting for the page, so every visitor waits the full five seconds, including everyone arriving from an ad.
Remove it. Without it, the only visible problem is the product photo slider, which shows its photos stacked for about half a second while it builds on a phone. That gets fixed on its own, so the product page loads cleanly without a cover.
The header uses the whole bottle label, tagline and small print included, inside a white box on the cream header, at 120 pixels wide on a computer and 90 on a phone, so the small print cannot be read.
The STANK Products wordmark on its own, straight onto the cream background. A transparent version is already in the store's files, uploaded in August, so it can be tried on a copy of the site for Julie to see before anything changes.
The founder-style videos are what sells. From 25 September to 1 October they produced 7 of the 9 purchases Meta recorded: 5 from the Founder Reel and 2 from Skin Won't Heal.
Julie films a short founder video next week, under a minute. It goes in three places: an Our Story page linked from the menu, a short section on the product pages, and the advertising. The words are transcribed for the page, so Google can read the story as well as watch it.
The product explainer videos are worth making regularly too, for the ads and for Instagram and Facebook, because they are the format that is already working.
Smaller items that together make the site feel finished.
Shopify is refusing the PST and GST numbers. For a Quebec business, Shopify asks for a GST number and a QST number (Quebec's version of PST), and each has a set format: the GST number is the 9-digit business number followed by RT and four digits, usually RT0001, and the QST number is 10 digits followed by TQ and four digits, usually TQ0001. A common mix-up is the Quebec enterprise number (NEQ) on incorporation papers, which looks like a tax number but isn't one.
Once the numbers arrive by email, they get checked against those formats and the setup finished. So far no tax has been charged on any order, so it is worth asking the accountant how sales before registration are treated.
What people type, what each page says now, and the suggested wording. Every change here waits for approval, page by page, and the French pages follow once the English is settled.
The searches each page should answer. One search per page, so the site's own pages do not compete with each other. How often the site appears for each search, and where it ranks, show up once Google Search Console is connected (Part Three). Until then each term either comes from the live Google checks run on 20 September or is marked as suggested.

| skin microbiome wash | How It Works and the human wash | Suggested |
| natural body wash for body odour | The Human collection | Suggested |
Say what the wash does and how skin feels afterwards: it cleans, conditions, helps remove sweat, odour, oil and yeasty buildup, and neutralizes the smell. Avoid treat, cure, heal and kill. A condition can be named as who uses STANK as their daily wash, with a short line saying it is not a treatment, like the one already at the foot of the eczema guide. How close the wording can get to naming a condition depends on how STANK is registered in Canada.
Google reads 8 main headings on the homepage and a visitor sees none of them: all 8 sit inside two older banner sliders that no longer show. The headline people do see is not marked as the main heading. Every first-time visitor also lands on the Animals side, while 14 of the 15 orders since 26 September were for the human wash. And the Shop buttons on the homepage go to a page that sends the visitor straight back to the top of the homepage.

| Main heading | 8, all hidden | One, visible: We fix WTF skin: the naturally derived wash for people and pets |
| Opening lines | "STANK doesn't focus on soothing problem skin. It helps reset the chaotic skin environment that is creating the itch, flakes, yeast, sores and odor - so skin can be healthy again." | "STANK is a 100% naturally derived skin wash with honey and coconut oil. It helps remove sweat, odour, oil and yeasty buildup, so skin and coats come out clean and conditioned, not stripped. Made for the smelly, flaky, itchy stuff, on you, your dog, your horse and your Sphynx." |
| Title in Google | Stank Products | STANK: Natural Skin Wash for People and Pets |
| The three steps | The same sentence under all three: "When skin's bacteria and fungus get thrown off, trouble starts." | Three different sentences, one per step |
| Shop buttons | Back to the top of the homepage | To the full range, the human range and the animal range |
| First visit | Opens on Animals | Worth deciding which side a first-time visitor sees |
The single bottle, the Double Bundle and the 3 bottle bundle share one page layout, which shows the same opening paragraph on all three. The description written for each product in Shopify never appears on the page, and the Description tab holds the dog wash paragraph: "For dogs with lingering odor, greasy coats, dandruff, itchy skin...". The question answers and the Shipping and Sizes boxes are empty.

| Single bottle $34.50 | STANK SKIN RESET SERUM WASH 8 OZ | STANK Skin Reset Serum Wash for BO, Sweaty Folds and Flaky Skin (8 oz) "Not another soap. STANK is a 100% naturally derived serum wash with honey and coconut oil that helps remove sweat, odour, oil and yeasty buildup from armpits, groin, skin folds, feet and scalp. It cleans without stripping, so skin is left conditioned instead of tight. Teens included." |
| Double Bundle $59 | STANK SKIN RESET SERUM WASH 8 OZ DOUBLE BUNDLE | STANK Skin Reset Serum Wash Double Bundle: Two 8 oz Bottles "Two bottles of the same naturally derived serum wash for $59, so you stop rationing it (or share with whoever's gym bag you can smell from the hallway). It helps remove sweat, odour, oil and yeasty buildup and leaves skin conditioned, not stripped." |
| 3 bottle bundle $84.50 | STANK SKIN RESET SERUM WASH 8 OZ 3 bottle bundle + Tote + free shipping | STANK Skin Reset Serum Wash 3-Bottle Bundle + Tote "Three 8 oz bottles plus the STANK tote for $84.50, with free shipping in Canada: the best value way to buy three. Enough for the whole household's armpits." "Free shipping" comes out of the product name, because it prints in the cart, the checkout and the receipt, and Google Shopping does not allow it in a name. |
Worth knowing: the Family Pack's human, human, human option is $79, which is $5.50 less than the 3 bottle bundle before shipping.
Each product page gets its own description, built from the one already written in Shopify, which is a good base. It covers:
Dog, Horse and Sphynx each open with their own copy now. The dog paragraph also sits in the Description tab on all of them, the question answers are empty, and the Family Pack has no description at all.

| Dog STANK | Dog STANK 8 OUNCE | Dog STANK: Natural Dog Shampoo for Yeasty Skin, Odour and Greasy Coats "That sour, corn-chip stank that's back two days after bath day? STANK is a naturally derived dog wash with honey and coconut oil that breaks down the oily, yeasty buildup on skin and coat instead of just masking it. Gentle enough to use again and again." |
| Horse STANK | Horse STANK 8 ounce | Horse STANK: Natural Horse Shampoo for Dandruff, Flakes and Funky Odour "Rain, mud, sweat and damp blankets: horses live in it, and their skin shows it. STANK is an unscented, naturally derived conditioning wash that lifts greasy buildup, flakes and grime from skin and coat without stripping it. Scabs that spread, sore patches or hair loss? Have your vet look first." |
| Sphynx STANK | Sphynx STANK 8 ounce | Sphynx STANK: Unscented Wash for Sphynx and Hairless Cats "No fur means nowhere for the oil to go. Sphynx skin builds up oil fast: waxy patches, brown residue, that smell, and the weekly bath. STANK is an unscented, naturally derived wash that lifts the oil and buildup and stays gentle on delicate skin, so it feels clean and soft, not stripped." |
| Family Pack | THE WHOLE STANKIN' FAMILY PACK (PICK 3 ) | The Whole Stankin' Family Pack: Pick Any 3 STANK Washes "Dog, human, horse or Sphynx: pick any three 8 oz bottles for $79 and wash the whole herd. One base formula, a bottle made for each." |
The Human and Animal collection pages carry a heading ("Collection: Human") and the product cards, with no words at all, and nothing in the menu, on the homepage or on the product pages links to them. A short introduction on each gives Google something to rank, and the Shop links in the menu and on the homepage then point there.

| Human | STANK for Humans: Skin Reset Serum Wash "For BO that deodorant only covers, sweaty folds, greasy skin and flakes. STANK is a naturally derived serum wash that helps remove sweat, odour, oil and yeasty buildup and leaves skin conditioned, not stripped. One bottle, two, or three with the tote." |
| Animal | STANK for Animals: Natural Washes for Dogs, Horses and Sphynx Cats "Yeasty dogs, flaky horses, greasy Sphynx cats. Each STANK is a naturally derived wash with honey and coconut oil that lifts oily, smelly buildup from skin and coat without harsh scrubbing or a lingering scent." |
| All | Shop All STANK Washes "Pick your STANK. One naturally derived base formula with honey and coconut oil, made up for people, dogs, horses and Sphynx cats. Single 8 oz bottles from $34.50, bundles, and the pick-any-3 family pack." |

Retargeting first, then a test of interests against the current campaign.
One campaign is running, LVRG Sales, at $100 a day: one live ad set, Canada, no interests, Meta's Advantage+ audience on, four ads running. The account has recorded 15 purchases since it opened, 12 of them from this campaign.
People who have already shown interest, shown a different ad to bring them back. It is usually the best value campaign an account like this can run, and it needs very little budget because the audience is small.
A second campaign beside the current one, with each ad set built around a group of interests and judged on cost per purchase against the broad campaign. The current campaign keeps running as the benchmark. If broad turns out better, that is worth knowing too.
Meta removed most health-related interests in 2022, so there is no eczema or seborrheic dermatitis interest to choose. The groups are built from neighbouring interests instead. The list comes for a yes or no before anything is set up.
Should the strongest ads from the September traffic test come back as still images?
In that test the top two ads drew 527 and 437 link clicks, and more than half of the 39 that ran drew 2 or fewer. Every click landed on the old homepage choice screen, so the test shows the message stops people scrolling; it cannot show whether it sells. The strongest, the "blow-dry under my boobs" image, is already back in the current campaign as Boob. There it has had about $30, one add to cart and no purchase yet, because it shares a budget with Skin Won't Heal (the next question). Its fair test is its own ad set, pointed at the Double Bundle, inside the interest test, with BO 5, the second strongest, beside it.
Why is the sebderm ad getting so little spend?
| Ad | Spend, 2 and 3 October | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Founder Reel, Skin Won't Heal | $107.48 | 81% |
| All the Same | $15.06 | 11% |
| Boob | $5.29 | 4% |
| Sebderm | $3.71 | 3% |
3 October is part of a day. Two paused ads spent a further $1.26.
All four ads share one ad set, and Meta moves the money to the ad it already expects to sell. Skin Won't Heal produced all 4 purchases in those two days, so it gets almost everything, and a new ad in the same ad set rarely gets enough to prove itself. The fix is to give the sebderm ad its own ad set with its own budget, as part of the interest test.
Google Ads reaches people at the moment they search for the problem, which suits this product well. It comes after the shop work. The groundwork goes in now: Google Analytics, the Google tag and Merchant Center through Shopify's own Google app, and Search Console alongside it, so there is data to work from when it starts and the search terms in Part Two can be measured.
Almost everything above is done from this side. Three things need Julie.
Prepared by Echo Digital, 3 October 2026, from the live website, the Shopify store and the Meta ad account on that date, and the call on 2 October. The first report, Website Review & Audit, covers the findings this plan builds on.
